So during my block leave, I went on a little get away with my platoon mates to genting!

It might be a little surprising to some of you guys, but the last time I went overseas was like in 2002 - school trip to Xiamen, China. To add on, the LAST time I went to genting was.........i can't remember. Most probably when I was really really young.

So I was kinda looking forward to that trip, wanted to see how much it has changed. I also wanted to do some shopping while I was there, so I asked my dad for some money.

It went like this -

"Dad can I have some monies pls"

"Okay pls, I will put some monies on the table later pls. Come and take pls."

"Thanks pls"

So before going to bed, i went over to the table and i saw a stack of notes.

I counted everything - altogether there were 20 notes.

Out of the 20 notes, 5 were 1 RM notes, another 3 were 10 RM notes.

The rest were 100 RM notes.

Sooooooooooooo anyway we sat the long and boring bus ride to the (?) top (what the fuck is genting built on anyway, wanna call mountain also cannot, call hill also cannot), reached at around 2+pm. Had to wait around for a while before we could check in.

Once we were done checking in, we proceeded up to our rooms to throw our stuff down. The rooms were alright I guess, considering the amount we paid.

After throwing all our shit down in our rooms, we went to take a walk around. But like nothing to buy also knn, the retail stores all machiam never-heard-before brands. There were Nike and Adidas stores, but nothing caught my eye.

FAIL.

So end up never buy anything. We didnt have time for lunch just now, so we decided to have an early dinner. Went over to Kenny Rogers for our all time favourite meat in PULAU FUCKING TEKONG - CHICKEN.

But it was okay la, roast chicken > steamed/braised/whatever chicken. After eating, we felt damn bo liao, so we went to the casino to have a look.

Personally it was my first time going to a casino, had a look around. Mostly all ah pek and lao aunties who just have too much monies to burn. knn change money is change in the thousands one, like machiam using hell notes to gamble.

I walked around, looking at different tables and half the time i didnt know wtf they were playing. only knew the 21 dian one and the big/small one. two of my friends went to gamble. one lost 200 RM, the other won 150 RM. harhar nubs. SMART PEOPLE PLAY JACKPOT OK.

the few of us who didnt play ended up playing jackpot. hahaha frankly speaking it was quite exciting, damn cheap thrill. put 10 RM in got like 500 credits. spin the thing one time 5 credits, spin until we song.

after playing, we were kinda hungry, so we went out to some malay kopitiam in some carpark outside the hotel.

i ordered... "SPECIAL BURGER" which was, just simply another RAMLY BURGER.

eat eat eat, then walked back. but on the way, some of them suddenly became high and wanted to show how MANLY they are by taking photos half nekkid.

we went back to our BUNK and thus ended DAY 1 of genting!

Day 2 started with a breakfast buffet! the buffet was not bad, but it was basically just nasi lemak with all the liao4 seperated into different parts -.-

so it was like rice, hot dawg, egg, fish cake, otak. and some random shit by the side like cereal, coupled with some fruits.

saw a couple of chao recruits there too. oh sorry did i say RECRUITS? I MEANT..PRIVATESSSSSSSSSSS POP LOHAHDSUIGADUISANDJIASD

ok sorry i digressed.

after eating, we proceeded to the theme park! the theme park was pretty much how i remembered it to be, with a few new rides that popped out. the two most memorable rides were the "Space shot"- the one where you sit and it brings u up to the height of 30 storeys then just drops you down. very much like free fall mode, and some other ride that resembled a regular corkscrew roller coaster, but instead of sitting down, you assume a lying position.

in layman's terms, you're in a superman position and you complete the roller coaster like that. initially i thought it was part of the theme park rides, but nooooooooooooo it costed 10 RM. fucking swindlers.

we kinda sat on everything there, go karts, the tea cup spin around shit, bumper boats etc et ctec

following all the fun, we si teh tired and hungryz cos we didnt have lunchz. so we went for a buffet dinnerz. was...........so so la. was neither bad nor really good. the food itself was ok, but it wasnt warm at all. machiam like they cook at 4pm alr and then just leave it there.

after having dinner, we then proceeded to check out the indoor theme park. there were rides, but mostly were kiddy rides. the indoor rollercoaster wasnt half as exciting as those outside due to space constrain, the bumper cars were fun though.

towards the end we kinda got really bored so we started doing silly shit. like sitting on the roller coaster and shouting and screaming like mad men, even while it was moving on flat tracks. hahahha it was damn funny to see people look up with the "OMG WTF SMLJ JUST HAPPENED" face.

it was even funnier to see those couples having quiet time sitting in those couple rides suddenly look up with the "omgbbq" expression. lololol

because we were so high after that, we sat all the kiddy rides too.

after we had our fill of fun, we went back to bunk. and thus spelt the end of day 2.

day 3 nothing much, left genting at 11.30am, reached home at 8pm. smlj man.

Already brought most of my stuff back from the shithole, the next 3 days should pass by in a flash. Absolutely can't wait for my block leave/genting/sentosa getaways! For those who would like to meet up with a tanned/hunky/awesomesauce man, please do feel free too!

As usual, everyone dreads the day they first step into Tekong, but also dreads the day they take their last step on Tekong soil. Same goes for me.

I'll miss the people for sure, my section mates especially. I'll miss the bed for sure, I've gotten so used to it! I'll miss the area cleaning together, all the stand by _____, and all the shit we've gone through together.

No matter where we go, or whether we still talk to each other after that, I'll still be able to recall these fond memories whenever I look at my platoon photos.
